We are always excited over the things we post, but this Go Go Bizkitt man from Scotland, simply made us go nuts! His tracks and remixes have been on repeat for weeks now, specially his remix of Daft Punk's classic "Technologic" have kept us dancing and yesterday he finally had it finished for download. Go Go Bizkitt is the 29years old Tom Nelson, who has been dj'ing for 4 years, but only producing for about 5 months! Which made us really impressed. Inspired by old legends like Le Knight Club, Crydamoure, Roule, Fiat Lux and re-inspired by new skool names like The Phantoms Revenge and Louis La Roche, Go Go Bizkitt creates incredible funky disco-house. Oh man, we are glad that Soundcloud brought Go Go Bizkitt into our world!!! We got a prelisten of his upcoming EP "Pheva" (gonna be such a great release) for ya and some very nice remixes.. We are over-thrilled! ohh and Go Go Bizkitt will join our Mixtape Mondays project later on!!

Havn't we been waiting for a good treatment of Crookers feat. Mixhell & Soulwaxs "We Love Animals"? Guess we have, thou the original is pretty amazing. L.A. based Religion just dropped their version of "We Love Animals" in good old rave manners. Loads of noise, synth and a heavy bassline, just as back in the days. It's been such a long time since we've enjoyed that sound, but Religion surely have done an amazing job on this one. It's a long time since we have heard anything from these guys, but actually they've been quite creative, we specially dig their "new" disco-house track "Miracles", which have some old hot classic vocals and dance beat, that will make you sweat! Stay tuned!

This one should have been blogged, about 20 days ago, so here it is. Two massive remixes of the young upcoming hip-hop boy Fugative's new EP "Superfly" by A1 Bassline and Roska. We must admit, that checking out Fugatives Myspace gave us a little laugh, but nonetheless there must be something he has done right, since he is signed on Ministry Of Sound. That guy is only 15years old, so you gotta be a little impressed, thou its a bit corny. Just checked his foto-albums at myspace, couldn't find any useful pictures, but had a good laugh (check it here). Looks like he already got a good take on them girls.. hehe. As for the remixes, there is not much to say, that will surprise you. Great work by A1 Bassline and Roska like always. Getting the most out of the potential there is. Get the "Supafly" EP Here.

The New City label is to be watched closely, cause they really got some great stuff going on. Thou we are not a indie-blog, the new New City promo compilation deserves some attention. Its filled with good indie- and disco-pop. Of course, there is a couple of tracks that isn't in our taste, but for a 16 tracks free compilation, you simply have to grap the release. We've put a couple of tasters plus the whole release (kbps quality various) in the end, but first read the promo info & check out the artists:
"The music of Faded Paper Figures sounds like a love story that you know only happens in movies, but at one point - maybe when you were a bit younger - you believed it existed." - Audio Muffin
"A band with a lot of blog buzz and online chatter suggesting they are leading the current pack of impossibly catchy, fearless, intelligent pop bands." - The Recommender
“One of the best unsigned bands on the planet” – Local Vertical
“England has once again produced electro pop genius! I haven’t heard anything this polished and true to its nature in a very long time.” - Off The Radar
"Fashioning the dreamy, misty-eyed pop that could have accompanied thousands of lonely, late-night rides on the Tube in the 1990s.....the songs are fleshed out, echoing, at moments, warm and familiar material from the Cure and the Dandy Warhols." - Buzzbands LA
“This is really a landmark for emotional-driven electronic music. I’m impressed, really impressed.” – Danger! Danger!
“Panic” is a triumph of electroesque-discotingued-house that should be bumped throughout parties across the globe this weekend.” - Blastercast

Got this video via mail. It reminds us a lot about good old The Smiths..  Of course you also gotta have a track. Elektropusher upped a remix of Mowgli's "Nu Skool", it's actually quite good, so give it a chance. A quite boring Monday, without any engeri at all. Guess 3 days of party still keeps us down. Ohh one last thing, remember to check out this weeks Mixtape Mondays with Carbeck.

Mixtape Mondays Volume 4:
The Danish youngsters Carbeck have developed sooo much over the past year (check these former blog posts about Carbeck here and here) Therefore we are more than pleased that they said "yes" to participate in our Mixtape Mondays project on such short notice, as Deluce had to cancel. Carbeck consist of Adam Emil Schierbeck, 16, and Frits Carøe, 15, both freshmen at high school. Drawing on inspiration from the likes of Kenton Slash Demon, Renaissance Man, Brandt Brauer Frick, doP and James Braun, Carbeck have found their proper environment. We are impressed by young Carbeck's skills both production wise, but also how they have dealt with the Mixtape Mondays-assignment. The mixtape and their commentary show true passion to and knowledge about the musical sphere they inhabit. We surely have enjoyed the easy-going tech-house mix and we hope you will as well. Join our Mixtape Mondays project at Facebook HERE.

"Lately, both Frits and I think we've found the sound that we like. The sound we like to hear, create and mix. It's a combination between afro-tech, tech house and minimaistic deep house. In this mix, we've used new as well as old tracks, including a sneek-peak on our newest track, "Kidokodu". We like a bassline that can be heard as well as we like decorative percussion. Everything from kalimbas to maracas and pitched bongo-drums.
This, is our "House music with soul" mixtape. We hope you'll like it!"

"POLIZEI is a Toronto-based filmmaker and composer. His work as a film composer has garnered him numerous accolades, including an invitation to the Berlinale Film Festival in 2005 to showcase his work.
An electronic musician for a number of years, the moniker "POLIZEI" is a recent creation, which serves as a banner for his work in the dubstep/post-dubstep genres"

Mix-tape Mondays Volume 3:
Our first foreign guestmixer is the still unknown gentleman Zambon (half of Kukabara Soundsystem). His addiction to and knowledge about disco made him an excellent choice. Since he hasn't picked any of his own edits and remixes for the mixtape, we've picked some for the blog. You have to hear some of his stuff. That said, we are more than glad to hear some unexpected disco-punk.
We surely hope that Zambon's disco rework of Norah Jones and Brian Ferry, and most of all his Mixtape Mondays mix will be of pleasure to you. We have enjoyed his stuff a lot!

"Take some funky basslines and motoric rhythms you know from the disco genre and combine them with punk attitude and sleazy guitars and you come up with disco punk - one of my favorite musical crossovers. For some time now I wanted to compile a mix of all my favorite genre defying tracks and now here it is! From the spectacular Dizzy Mercier cover of the famous Mission Impossible theme trough Bush Tetras best moment "Can't Be Funky" and Out Hud's psyched out number "One Life To Leave" to the timless Rapture classic "I Need Your Love". It's all here raw & funky ready to give you some badass attitude for the start of the week. Be sure to check the Medium Medium track "Mice Or Monsters" from 1981 - it's epic!" - Zambon

SonicC had quite a good 2009, and he got no intention to keep the hype down. Latest outcome from the Miami based producer, is a banger of Sharooz's first release on the new La Bombe label, a label created by Sharooz himself. The purpose with the new label is to "Represent the best in new, dirty dancefloor electornica." We must admit, that the SonicC remix of Sharooz's "Saccharin" is a gooood way, to start of such a project. If you havn't already, got the remix at Discodust or Louis Louis, then here it is! Set whole Sharooz thing, is set be released mid february.

Todays first couple of tracks is of elder date, but nonetheless they are awesome. The reason for this post, is to give Radioclits "Saga Africa" compilation/EP some attention, thou is surely all ready have got a lot. It's been out on Beatport (here) for about a month, but will be released on other online shops the 25th of January. This tropical tech-house release, surely is amazing. Thou, we already are a bit tired of Douster's "King of Africa", with the Lion King theme, Radioclit, Myd and Lazy Flow delivers some real banger original tracks! Ohh, and we actually love Douster, just got to much of that Lion King fuckshit.. hehe. As for the second track, Club Cheval's Canblaster have started a new serie of remixes. To begin with, he have remixed King Cannibal's "Virgo", which he actually also made a dub edit. Enjoy these goodies. And remember to buy the "Saga Africa" compilation/EP.

Thou it ain't long ago, that we posted Figure, his back once again. This time with a original track of his own. It's named "The Warriors" and it is really progressive dubstep! This man, really can produce almost every genre. First the woooobbling Paul Anthony remix, then the disco-house remix, in collaboration with Tommie Sunshine, of Grateful Dead's "ShakeDown Street", and now dubstep..

"This tune's demo got tossed around some months ago and found it's way into some good names sets. Finally it has been said that clearing the vocal samples (The speech from 'The Warrior's) is way to pricey , so I'm handing this out 100% free!

This is a dub step tune at 144 bpm that has two 4/4 change ups , very angry bass lines , and pattern switch ups all the way through"

Mixtape Mondays Volume 2:
Foto by Nicolai Zoffman - www.zoffmann.net

As second guest at Mixtape Mondays we've got Danish Chris Minus, winner of The Movida Corona DJ Contest and soon to release his album This&That
With an addiction to deep-house and house tunes, Chris Minus brings in music, we normally don't explore at this blog. His great mixing skills, fused with a interesting approach to music, made him the perfect solution to bring in something deeeeep and different than we usually blog.
If you're busy with exams, stressed out or simply grasping for air, this mix will surely make you feel better!!

"The whole set was actually based on the Danish duo Delicious’ track MOTO. I found this track on a charity album called "Kittball Charity Compilation It Began In Africa". If you ever come by this album, BUY IT! The African voices in this track is killing and the chords sound amazing. So therefore there was nothing else to do than find my favorite tracks at the moment and fill the gaps. One of them is track 2, which is from my new album This&That (release: end of January). Track 4 is also a favorite. I just love how the beat keeps on going and going. The last track is from NOIR. I may not favorite everything from his label, but lately the deep stuff he has released has really got to me. Again a track that just keeps on going. What a groove!!!!
Generally I am very pleased with this mix, BUT 30 min is just not enough" - Chris Minus

Richie Beretta is back on the blog, with a massive track!! It's called "Zombie Prom Night", and it doesn't get more old-skool than this. Richie himself, explains the track as an zombie version of a good old-fashioned prom night. Here is Richie's own story of the track.

"If Zombies had the privilege of going to High School this would be their Prom theme song. Imagine if you will: It is 1997 and Stanley the quiet polite zombie is asking Daisy the hot popular zombie to the prom. And Daisy, that scornful bitch, she declines because she's going to the prom with Lumbar Jones the quarter back of the football team, the Howard Beach Brain Eaters.
Fastforward to Prom night, and our hero, Stanely, is alone at the table in his aqaumarine tuxedo his mother bought for him at a second hand store. He sees Daisy disappear from the dancefloor with Lumbar Jones out into the parking lot and his heart sinks. Meanwhile in the parking lot Lumbar Jones is being a bit too forceful with Daisy - and Daisy tries to explain to Lumbar that even though she shakes her ass on the dancefloor like a huge zombie whore and wears overly revealing clothes to Home Ec. that she's waiting for marriage to have sex. Lumbar Jones says "come on baby it's prom" Just then Daisy realizes that Lumbar is only interested in her rad Zombie bod and that she passed up the man of her dreams, sweet sweet Stanley. Just then she rushes back into Russo's on the Zombie Bay and shouts "Stanely!" Stanley looks up in disbelief as Daisy rushes over and says "wanna get outta here?" They hop in the limo and go to Sound Factory for the after prom party and eat a bunch of humans."

We love the story and the track. Grab it & enjoy it!

Back in the 80's a Sweat Band was both a band you had around your head to absorb sweat, and a big funkadelic new-wave band produced by the almighty Bootsy Collins & George Clinton. Now there has come a new Sweat Band, but this has only very little attendant information. In our search for information, we found a blogpost by TheCultureOfMe (btw. great page), who seems to have spoken with Sweat Band. Read the post Here. Enjoy this good mood disco-something..

Mix-tape Mondays volume 1
We can't wait anymore! The clock has ticked, it's Monday and our brand new Mix--tape Mondays project is hereby launched! As mentioned in the New Years Post, every Monday in 2010 will have a guest dj/producer to please your ears with an exclusive mix-tape. The guest dj/producer has 30 min. available for the mix, and has to write 5-15 lines about the mix and it's content.

For the kick-off, we proudly present the young Danish comet Eim Ick, as our first guest mixer. Eim Ick has had a great 2009, but we are sure, like many other Danish media, that Eim Ick will get an even better 2010. His producer skills are at international level and there can be no doubt that his debut EP "From East To West", which will be published this year, will get a lot of attention! We are great supporters of the demos we have heard, and have high expectations to him. As for the mix, we have had it on repeat in Itunes since we received it! This mix fits so perfectly for a Monday!

Here is what Eim Ick has to say about the mix:

"For long, I have been fascinated by short cuts of vocals and generally the use of vocals in new, fun and quirky ways. This mix is probably not an exception and quite wide-ranging in genre. It has 7 tracks that I think have some really cool ideas and unique expressions. In particular, I absolutely love the remix with The Field, which both has a really bold and challenging rhythm and a use of vocals that gives the number even more character and is the basis of the tracks groove. The track Blance Neige from dOP is also one of the tracks that really gets me creative. The "humming" choir which quietly builds up in the bridge is fantastic and supports the whole story so well!
I hope you'll like it.
Eim Ick"

2.Kenton Slash Demon - Sun
3.dOP - Blanche Neige

Can't remember when we last heard anything from Homework, must be when we blogged them back in 2008 and had them featured in a mixtape, with their Daft Punk remix. But lets face it, the 2007/2008 distorted hard electro sound has changed a lot over the past years, and so have Homework. Taken their sound from electro to a fidget sound inspired Sound Of Pellegrino, Homework have recreated themselves. Taste it

Danish Eumig & Chinon have conquered our hearts! Guess we don't follow the Danish medias too well, cause Soundvenue Magazine and BandBase.dk have already announced their love and believe in this solo project by Copenhagen based Christian Kastbjerg, 25. When performing live, Christian get assistance by a friend, maybe that is the reason for the name? hehe. Anyway, Eumig & Chinon is about to release his first EP this spring, on his own label CoyBoyRecords. Looking forward to the release! As for a desciption of the music, we can't say it better than this:

“…think of siriusmo on crack, dcup on speed, and justice on uppers. the end result is
eumig & chinon. although there are a million fellaz out there snapping faux bass to
crunchy snares, I happened to really feel where eumig & chinon do different”

Happy New Year!
We hope you all came safely and fucked up into the new year! We did.
2009 was a great year! It was the year where dubstep & UK funky broke into the more mainstream world. Where fidge-house got more bassline and acid inspired.. and that we dig a lot! But 2009 was also kind of a confusing, we feel. Specially when it comes to music genres. Got damn the genres got messed up in 2009! haha.. but what the heck! We had a blast of a year! And the following year will become the shit, cause we got loads of stuff going on.
Here on the blog, there will happen new things! Wuuhooo.. actually we'll kickstart a new project for year 2010, that will give you readers very nice way to start the week.
Mixtape Mondays is our new mixtape project here at the blog! The concept is simple. Every Monday we'll have a guest dj/producer to make a mixtape and write 5-15 personal lines about the mix and its content for you! We hope our Mixtape Monday Project will become successful, and we can already now tell, that we have very interesting and kool guestmixers lined up!

Wonderful remix! Not a banger, but a damn funky disco edit!
