Mixtape Mondays Volume 13:
Our guestmixer this Monday, is yet an Danish experimental ambient producer. His name is Uffe Christensen and he produces under the artist name Nabo (English = Nearby).  Also his part of the dj-duo Burger, who djs bass heavy dubstep, wonky and hiphop. Like Aslope and ELOQ, Nabo have release on Hobby Industries soon, so be sure to check out more of his tunes. As for todays mix, Nabo have chosen to let his friend Ill Tunes join in on it. The mix have become quite easy and chilled. We really dig it. Just perfect, as Nabo's Mixtape ends our experimental month, and next month we'll therefore go back to normal, with loads of disco, dubstep, house, techno, electro etc. Therefore you better enjoy this mix a lot!

"Yo. This is a mix i did together with Ill Tunes, with music that I'm into these days and 2 of my own tracks. Basically it's just focusing on fresh tracks rather than tight mixes. It turned out a bit more weird than expected but we both dig it, hope you will too. Check out Ill Tunes group on facebook for mixes and news and my EP is dropping soon on the Hobby Industries label, Oh Boy..." - Nabo

The movie is made by filmmaker Stephen Alex Vasquez, it's premiering this week at the Miami winter music conference. But why mention the movie again? Simply because Blende have made the theme track for the movie, and send it to us for sharing yesterday. Its a really great track! Ohh and Blende's So Well EP is out at Beatport etc.

Mixtape Mondays Volume 12:
August Fenger is the name behind ELOQ and todays Mixtape Mondays mix. The young talented Danish lad has over the past year established himself in Copenhagen as booker, promoter, producer and dj under various names and collaborations. August runs the club LEAN at Dunkel bar, djs baile-funk under the name DJ Bacon, and is part of the dj-collective Lortehænderne and half of the dj-duo AK-47. As ELOQ, August produces crunk 8-bit non-commercial hiphop. Like Aslope and coming guestmixer Nabo, Augusts ELOQ project it's debut EP release on Hobby Industries soon. Looking for that. Until then, enjoy his mixtape for todays monday, which contains loads of crunked up tracks and a couple of own productions and edits. Gotta love it!

"This isn't really a mixtape, it is more of a look inside my head if you crack it open.
Iv'e put together a mix of songs, sounds and shit that inspires me the most.

Theres some spacey 60's shit, some old lovely 8-bit game stuff, some Dilla, some Raymond Scott, some raw hip hop, some soulful hip hop, some beats and some ironic stuff.

and off course I've put in some of my own tracks. Two of em are from my forthcoming EP !

The other two of em (Ripples (ELOQ edit) and Beautiful 8-bit Dungeon) are actually just some really quick stuff I made in the process of making the mixtape.. I kept it raw and not entirely done on purpose - it maybe kinda shows how my inspirations manifest inside my head :)
I don't know.. but this is 30 minutes of what goes through my head when I'm in front of my MPC or whatever making beats!
" - ELOQ

1. Raymond Scott - Bufferin (Memories)
2. Raymond Scott - Ripples (ELOQ Edit)
3. Koji Kondo - Legend Of Zelda Dungeon Theme

Jay Robinson have been one of our absolute favorites through 2009. His collaboration with Il Diablo as Dub Frequency and his work together with Malente on the Do Your Head In EP was amazing! He have already released several remixes and got some exciting dubstep releases on the steps as well.. Enjoy these freebies!! Oh oh the Malente edit of Just Bounce For Me is thick and sick!!! Malente + Jay Robinson = Better than Burger King when your drunk! It's just awesome! But sure to check them out on Beatport!

Got some disco for ya, to start the day with.. before dropping bass! First of all, Acid Washed is about to release their self-titled album, the 29th of March. For that occasion, we have received a splendid remix by Future Beat Alliance (who is also about to release yet an EP). The remix is one really long disco fuck journey, that you should enjoy! Also, what you may have perceived, there is a new Grum remix out. You might remember the A1 Bassline remix of same TV Rock track, which we released Here. Mixtape Mondays Volume 11:
Aslope is our guestmixer this Monday. The talented young man, have studied electronic music at The Danish Music Academy in Aarhus, but nowadays he enjoys life in Copenhagen still developing on his experimental and very detailed sound. Aslope is a member of the awesome New Folder collective, which Eloq and Nabo (coming weeks guestmixers) also is part of. You might remember Aslopes wonderful remix of Det Sejler I Effekter's Insolvens, which we blogged together with Mixtape Mondays v.9. Such a great remix. We recommend you visit his Myspace, to hear more of his music. When it comes to his mixtape, it's yet another totally different mix from the others we have had until now. With a experimental sound of dubstep, techno and hiphop, this mix can both make you wanna go nuts and become drunk or you can chill out with it, while enjoying the amazing tracks in it. But sure to give Aslopes own tracks in the mix a very good listen, as they will be on his upcoming debut EP.. Have a great Mixtape Monday!!

"Hey, today after brunch i did this mixtape. It's a mix between hiphop/dubstep/techno and its loaded with bass and love. I have chosen tracks from some of my favourite producers and thrown in some of my own productions from my EP, soon to be released on Hobby Industries.
I am prone to street bass and corny melodies, but also appreciate the skilled producer. I am not sure whether to categorize this mixtape as ravey, but it sure makes me want to wriggle my tiny little white ass.

We actually promised to blog some more bassline stuff, but when Quinten 909 new Sophia single pops into your inbox, with a promo remix for sharing, there is nothing to do! Ohh my, what a great disco track. Both the original and the remixes by Extra Medium and Homework are great! While the original Sophia track is straigh nu-disco, the Extra Medium remix got a more deep feel, thou stil nu-disco. Got such a great vibe, probably our favorite, while the Homework remix got a the afro-tech vibe, which will fit very for a good bangin house set. All-in-all, we would play any of these remixes out loud, course each of them fits for different kinds of sets and they are all great. Grab the promo rework by Quinten 909 of Fred Falke's When I look into your eyes. Quite amazing as well. Buy the Sophia single at Itunes and Beatport. Prelisten the single as well..

Mixtape Mondays Volume 10:
Ohh my! 10th Mixtape Mondays, and yet a awesome mix! Thursday, we and Villains Club had KiD COLA in town (Copenhagen) for what became a great party, where he delivered his notorious house and fidge sound.  The young man, 21, stayed for an extra day, where we had the opportunity to show him a little of Copenhagen (Christiania) and small talk about music. We also heard a demo of a upcoming remix, that will be released for free.. Sounded awesome. When it comes to music, KiD COLA showed some great insight and maybe all our talk about music and the Christiania environment have inspired him, for this Mixtape Mondays mix, cause its really spaced out and shows another side of KiD COLA, that we havn't seen yet, thou we have followed him since his first remixes hit blogs around the world. Be sure to check out his latest release Kappa Kappa/Rizzo with remixes from Last Japan and Riptide, plus his latest remixes, that we'll give you for free (Here) (Here). Also enjoy the Rinse.fm interview with him HERE. Enjoy this amazing psychedelic acid house mix from KiD COLA!

"I believe all these tracks have a timeless quality to them. Thus to my ears they still, after many years, sound relevant and essential. There is an ethereal quality to them. An emotion is elicited which is more than the standard fare of happiness, sadness or melancholy.  A much deeper mix of awe, acceptance, gratitude and space is what I feel. Most of these tunes are steeped in reverb and delays giving them an almost tangible quality. Close your eyes and listen on headphones.  You'll feel like you can reach out and stroke the music, climb on the drums and chase the bass around a sky of little fluffy clouds. A truly meditative experience. Proper drug music!" -  KiD COLA (March 2010)

2. Oribital- Chime (7" Single Version)-1990

Sunday, 7 March 2010

Gotta have some Sunday tunes, as we forgot to post a whole bunch of bangers yesterday.. Cause we surely got some really dope bass music waiting in our inbox to be dropped.. but such tunes just don't fit into a Sunday with hangovers.. Therefor we present Danish Kenton Slash Demon, a producer/dj duo most music interested Danes should know about, not only because of their membership in popular When Saints Go Machine, but mostly their high quality techno and house tunes. Already having a few popular releases behind them, Jonas Kenton and Silas Moldenhawer will continue their journey, with hopefully even more success in the near future. Enjoy their March mix, and be sure join them at Facebook to get more information..

When emails from the producer Elite Force pop into our inbox, we are always excited, cause this guy really knows what music is about. Today he send a mail about Rektchordz and a new remix of his. Rektchordz (aka Jamie Smithson) signed on U&A Recordings, has never been on our blog before, as we havn't noticed his talent before now. Making up for our fail, we give you his new remix of Calvin Harris' Stars Come Out. Ohh be sure to check his new homepage.

They are named PeaceTreaty, but there is not much peace treaty over their music.. Only if you agree on the term that a fat bass and loads of rave sounds make peace. We'd like that to be true. Nonetheless, Peace Treaty is here to pump out your speakers. Already getting massive support from KissySellOut, Bart B More, Mustard Pimp and Andy George & Jaymo, we are sure that blogs soon will be all over these two peace dudes from California. Their sound is of the popular "dutch house genre", which is a crossover of bassline and fidge. Take fucked up hard low frequency basslines together with very high frequencies of sirens, alarms etc. and you get dutch house.. Hold tight, these remixes and tracks will blow everything! Can't wait for droppin some of this shit tonite at a function one - system!!!

Midnight Conspiracy surely knows how to produce some really dope remixes.. First time they caught everyone's attention, was with their Chromeo remix, but this Esser Headlock remix will surely take them blogs down as well!! While the remix of Chromeo's Night by Night was a pure disco enjoyment, the Headlock remix is great dubstep godness! We said to our friends, that we would drop bass this week, as we got a great gig tomorrow to celebrate!! Stay tuned for some really bassy dopeness!

Heavyfeet delivers yet an amazing remix! We thought Knob Jockeys remix of Roisin Murphys Momma's Place would be the top, but Heavyfeets version is just as good. Hard to decide which one is best, would probably prefer Heavyfeets, when it comes to drop it in a dj-set. When it comes to Heavyfeet, we really look forward to hear from in the future, here is a little from the pressmail: "HeavyFeet are another duo exploring the options for artists in 2010:  every month for 12 months they will release 3 tracks:  an original track (by themselves), a club remix (also by themselves) and a guest remix (by a 'name' producer)"."  Thats news, you like to hear..

Dj Donna Summer - Raw from Nightshifters on Vimeo.
We love the Nighshifters label and we love DJ Donna Summer! Therefore it was such a pleasure opening the inbox this afternoon, cause DJ Donna Summer is back with a new release, named Raw! His first EP for Nightshifters and the first release in 2 years! wooot! Gonna be sick one! Here is how Nightshifters describe the release:

"The title track “Raw” is an expansive bass tune with enough sexual innuendo to keep a nun awake for a week and “Fighter” an explosive house-dubstep 1-2 punch that will surly call for many rewinds. “Back” is caught between deep house organs and a touch UK Breaks, whereas “King” uses Forrest’s Star6 iPhone app to shred police sirens over a driven beat. But it is the surprise last minute addition “Wood” that really pushes the boundaries between dubstep, house, and proto-Jungle! Save it for your year-end lists!"

With remixes from Bok Bok, Hostage, Noise Floor and Sonido Del Principe this release gonna be a pretty wild one! Enjoy the original Raw track in all its glory.. Sick one!

TLGB is back with great news and stuff for sharing. You might know TLGB (The Living Graham Bond) from some of all the wonderful bassline tracks, he have allowed us to share with you Here, Here and Here. All very popular posts. Now his back with yet a remix, a mixtape and a upcoming release.
When it comes to the upcoming release, its featuring Fiona Bevan. + the sound is changed a bit, gone more into the more UK House/garage, which is more chilled, thou TLGB have remained his great basslines. We love it. Have yourself a living snack mix!

EP Track Reviews:

Jeuce actually deserves some words of ours, cause we think they are great. But as our inbox is booming with mails and our time is very little at the moment, we'll only post some press.

"Jeuce are a live electro/dubstep act based in Leeds, built up of four members. They have recently received attention and airplay from Radio one DJ’s Andy George and Jaymo and have been causing somewhat of a stir across the blogging world. They are now also one part of the freshly launched Get Hype Collective; a collaboration of like-minded Acts, DJ’s, Designers and Promoters." - press

Mixtape Mondays Volume 9:
As we try to diversify the mixtapes as much as possible and with it, explore other fields, than we normally work with, we have decided to make a month with more electronica oriented artists. We hope and believe, this will make our Mixtape Mondays even more interesting for you as a listener!
Therefore Marts month will contain 3 danish interesting guestmixes and of course a good international mix.
To start of with, we have Copenhagen based Det Sejler I Effekter (english translation: Awash In Effects), a band consisting of Kee Fritchards/Jdreng, Daniel Sarstedt and Tummy Dob. As their name suggests, these men experiment a lot with effects, but like another Four Tet, they master it with perfection. What a sound universe. Their electronica dub music (with a twist of dubstep) is a delight to the ear for both the inattentive listener, but especially for the discerning and attentive listener. Our recommendation is to give this Mixtape Mondays mix a careful listen when the time and surroundings for relaxation is present, to get the full benefit. Have a pleasant Mixtape Monday with Det Sejler I Effekter!

"We wanted to celebrate our upcoming EP (entitled ”Den danske sang er en ond, blond Pia” available on vinyl and download in April 2010), so we decided to do a mix primarily consisting of EP related tracks. All the remixes are of tracks appearing on the EP, and all the tracks in the mix are as yet unreleased dubs. There's a bit of fucked up, wonky hip hop, some weird ambient dub, a bit of (post)dubstep and a few things in between. The mix was recorded using turntables, magic data vinyls and Traktor. Oh, and DSiE loves everybody, well, perhaps not Pia, but we do love almost everybody, so we wanted to give you a little present as well. It's the mighty Aslope's remix of our track ”Insolvens”. Enjoy." - Det Sejler I Effekter
